Using School and Community to Create Comprehensive Solutions

Tuesday, December 6, 2011 – 8:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Hofstra University
Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus

The Long Island Youth Safety Coalition is pleased to offer a major conference on dangerous driving. The mayhem and destruction found on our highways due to irresponsible driving is endemic. Parents, teachers, and law enforcement authorities have struggled for solutions. The Nassau County District Attorney's Office has waged war to make highways safe and would like to engage schools and youth agencies in taking a new look at this old but deadly problem. An array of talented presenters, workshops, and resources of practical value to schools and organizations has been assembled for this conference. The coalition’s goal is to combine the resources and knowledge possessed by the dozens of coalitions, schools, and groups dedicated to making youth safer. By sharing information, knowledge, and advice, each organization will become stronger and more effective and Long Island’s youth will benefit. The coalition offers periodic island wide forums on critical topics and provides a forum for discussions and information exchange through the LI Youth Safety Listserv. If you are interested in joining or obtaining more information, contact the Nassau County District Attorney’s Community Affairs office at (516) 571-1090, René.fiechter@nassauda.org
