PeaceMakers Poster Contest - 2012

    The PeaceMakers Violence Prevention Program is a social cognitive program using social skills, problem solving and anger management training, as well as education about violence, with the goal of reducing school based violence and student aggresssion. Participant students include those who are abusive, intimidating and assaultive of others, andthose ewho are insubordinate and disruptive in class, who might otherwise be suspended, expelled and/or removed from the school classroom.
The PeaceMakers program helps students understand violence, make positive choices, with anger management, learn conflict resolution along with many other skills.
    Middle schools from the Freeport, Roosevelt, Hempstead, Westbury, and Uniondale school districts participated in this year's contest resutling in about 500 entries. Prizes were presented to three winners from each school, by the Nassau County District Attorney and the United States Attorney of the Northeast Region.
